European Football powerhouses Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have filed a joint trademark application related to the Metaverse. Trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis tweeted the news on Thursday.

The joint venture’s branding logo is a giant “C” with the logos of the two teams on either side.
The application, filed Aug. 5, includes virtual and augmented reality software and games, as well as virtual reality clothing, shoes, hats, sportswear and more.
The app also includes “downloadable software for use as an electronic wallet” and “downloadable software for managing cryptocurrency transactions using blockchain technology.”
The Spanish La Liga will kick of the season with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona playing Almeria and Rayo Vallecano respectively this weekend.
