In celebration of the American Gaming Association’s Responsible Gaming Education Month, Flutter’s U.S. division – FanDuel Group – hosted its first company-wide Play Well Day to announce a series of additions to its industry-leading responsible gaming program. Flutter employees from around the world came together to reaffirm FanDuel’s strong commitment to responsible gaming in America, and to hear from company and industry leaders about the day-to-day role employees play in creating a culture that encourages customers to do the same.
Play Well is a core pillar of Flutter’s Global Sustainability Strategy, the Positive Impact Plan, focused on using universal principles to promote safer games in the global markets where Flutter operates. As part of this, the group has set a goal that by 2026 and 2030, 50% and 75% of online customers worldwide will use safer gambling tools, respectively.
During Play Well Day, FanDuel made several major announcements related to its responsible gaming initiative and announced the renewal of its partnership with Puerto Rican seven-division boxing champion Amanda Serrano. In addition to sponsoring her games, Serrano has joined FanDuel as the newest responsible gaming ambassador, where she will be filming a series of responsible gaming announcements in English and Spanish to better serve FanDuel’s customers.
Serrano joins Craig Carton as a responsible gaming ambassador, and Carton has also agreed to extend his role for several years to educate young people on responsible gaming as part of this fall’s FanDuel/Craig Carton College Campus Tour.
As members of FanDuel’s Responsible Gaming Team, Serrano and Carton will play an active advisory role within FanDuel’s RG Operations and Customer Service teams, producing content that encourages customers to play well. They will also work to encourage greater adoption of FanDuel’s responsible gaming tools, including wagering, deposits and time limits, to help customers manage their games safely.
“I am delighted to be joining FanDuel as a Responsible Gaming Ambassador,” Serrano commented. “I appreciate how serious the team at FanDuel takes this issue, as it’s one of personal importance to me. Being able to use my platform to advocate to sports fans a play well lifestyle is something I’m proud to be a part of,” she added.
“I am excited to continue working with FanDuel on raising awareness and advocacy for problem gambling, Our first year together focused on training and identifying ways to better protect customers through advocacy. Moving forward, speaking to young adults about my story and how they can learn from it is something I’m incredibly passionate about. I can’t wait to kick off our campus tour later this month.”
Adam Warrington, Vice President of Responsible Gaming at FanDuel Group, concluded:
“The opportunity to continue our partnership with Craig while also welcoming Amanda to our Responsible Gaming Ambassador team will allow FanDuel to connect with more consumers about our beliefs around how to play well,” said “We’re proud to further our commitment to developing programs, partnerships, and tools that aim to make a tangible difference in responsible gaming.”
